Pizza! I LOVE pizza. Especially when I use this delicious 10-minute homemade pizza crust recipe! This super easy homemade pizza crust comes out fluffy and thick with a perfect crisp outer edge. And it’s freezable, which means your future pizza nights just got a whole lot easier.
I love how many ways you can top a pizza. I feel like it can be a completely different meal every time, depending on which toppings you use. I usually prefer a BBQ sauce pizza with red onions, avocado and mozzarella or a Margherita-style pizza is pretty darn delicious using my garlic basil pesto sauce as well.
My family and I have made dozens of different kinds of pizzas over the years, but my kids still prefer the classic cheese pizza. One day they will learn to appreciate the deliciousness of fig sauce and Gorgonzola cheese but today is not that day. Ha!
Making your own pizza crust may seem daunting, but this delicious pizza crust comes together in LESS THAN 10 MINUTES, and that includes stretching out the dough to shape your pizza. Plus, the taste of a homemade pizza crust makes ALL the difference in the world. Store-bought crusts are okay in a pinch but if you make sure to always have a few balls of this homemade crust in your freezer, then you shouldn’t ever need to buy an over-priced crust at the grocery store.
Plus, “Make Your Own Pizza” night is just fun! Kids love it but so do adults! My husband and I have had plenty of these “Make Your Own Pizza” nights with friends and we all really enjoy choosing our own toppings and making our own “personal pizzas.” If you haven’t tried doing this for dinner, you’re missing out!
With my family, “Make Your Own Pizza” night is something all of us look forward to. The kids love to spread their own sauce on their crust and then sprinkle loads of mozzarella cheese on top. I think more cheese ends up in their mouths than on their pizza, but that’s fine by me as long as they are having fun. And they are always so proud of what they have created and that just makes me smile. 🙂
How to make this 10-minute homemade pizza crust:
To make the dough this quickly, I use this KitchenAid Food Processor. It makes so many of my recipes go by so much faster! I truly don’t know what I would do without this machine. I enjoy spending time in my kitchen, but I enjoy spending time with my family even more 😉
To make this 10 minute pizza dough recipe, simply throw flour, yeast, sugar, and salt in the KitchenAid Food Processor and mix on low for about 10 seconds. While the food processor is running, pour the oil into the feed tube. Next, add water slowly to the mixture in a steady stream and continue to mix on low for about 1 minute. During this minute, the dough will begin to stick to itself and ball up inside the food processor. Convenient, right?!
When this happens, you may turn off the machine and take the dough out. Divide the dough in half, making two separate balls to make two 12-inch pizzas. With fast-acting yeast, you don’t even have to wait the 20 minutes for the dough to rise.
Just shape and stretch each ball into a 12-inch round pizza crust. And you’re done!
Didn’t pizza night just get a whole lot easier??
If you freeze the pizza dough and pull it out on a later date, then pizza night is even more of a breeze. I have had my pizza dough frozen for up to 4 months and it still comes out perfectly every time.

Easy Homemade Pizza Crust
This pizza crust is SO delicious and comes together in less than 10 minutes! This easy pizza crust is perfect for making right away or saving it in the freezer for a later date. This pizza crust recipe makes 1 regular 12-inch pizza or 2 thin crust pizzas.
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 2 1/2 t fast active dry yeast 1 packet
- 1 t sea salt
- 1 1/2 t sugar
- 3 T extra-virgin olive oil
- 2/3 cup warm water
- 2 or 3 T medium or coarse cornmeal optional
Put the flour, yeast, sugar and salt in a food processor. Turn the food processor on a low setting and pour the oil through the feed tube, then add the water in a slow, steady stream. Continue to mix for about 1 minute (the dough should ball up on its own in the food processor).
The finished dough should be soft, slightly sticky and stretchy. If it's dry, add a little water; if it's too wet, add about a tablespoon of flour.
On a clean surface, knead the dough by stretching and folding the dough over on top of itself 4-5 times. If you used the fast acting dry yeast, there is no need to let the dough sit and rise. Cut the dough in half to form 2 balls of dough, *See Notes for freezing options.
Work with the dough in your hands (not flat on a work surface). Press your fist into the center of the dough and carefully stretch the dough into a circular shape. Gently pull your fists opposite each other, moving the dough in a circular pattern, being careful not to tear it. Continue until the dough's thickness is uniform, but the edges are a bit thicker. Lay the dough on the hot stone or baking sheet once the dough is your desired size.
Sprinkle the corn meal or a little flour on the hot stone. Lay the dough on the hot stone or baking sheet once the dough is your desired size.
Top your pizza with your desired sauce and toppings, and bake for 8-10 minutes!
Freezing Option - After the dough is made and it is cut into 2 equal balls of dough, wrap both balls tightly in plastic wrap, put them in a Ziploc Freezer bag, and transfer to the freezer. The morning before you want to make pizza, transfer the dough to the refrigerator so it can thaw. Bring the dough to room temperature for 15-20 minutes. Then the dough is ready to be stretched and shaped into a circle, and topped!
